Bolton have been handed another frustrating blow as the court hearing, to ascertain whether or not Laurence Bassini has a claim on the football club, has been adjourned for over two weeks due to a lack of evidence from both parties present, Bassini and Ken Anderson’s Inner Circle Investments.
However, despite previously thought, the adjournment does not prevent the sale of Burnden Leisure Ltd., the parent company of Bolton Wanderers, to the Football Ventures consortium, opening the door for the potential new owners to finally sign on the dotted line.

Bolton’s High Court hearing got underway just after 11am this morning where representatives from both the Anderson and Bassini camps provided evidence.
After two hours, the court adjourned for lunch with the Judge to return and offer his verdict at 3pm.
We now know that this verdict means we’re all going to have to go through this whole ordeal once again on Monday, September 2.
The biggest factor in adjourning today appears to come from a statement from administrator Paul Appleton who, we understand, claimed that an adjournment in the case would not affect the sale of the club, leaving the adjourned case to focus solely on Laurence Bassini and his grievances with Ken Anderson after his bid to buy the club fell through earlier this year.

While the adjournment does muddy the waters somewhat, it does appear from reports coming from the High Court in Manchester that the sale of the club can now proceed with the injunction modified to focus solely on the two parties, Laurence Bassini and Ken Anderson’s Inner Circle Investments.
However, until we see a concrete statement from Bolton Wanderers confirming Football Ventures as the new owners, just like down the road in Bury, the whole situation is still very unclear and what comes next at this stage is still up in the air as this unprecedented series of events takes another dramatic turn.
