Bolton have fought off another bid from Premier League side Brighton for their young talent, Luca Connell.
Wanderers rejected a first bid from Brighton on deadline day.
However, Brighton returned to make a second bid this week. Thankfully for Bolton fans, this new bid was rejected too.
The news means that Connell will remain a Bolton player for the foreseeable future.
With Connell attracting interest from the Premier League, it would be wise for the higher-ups at Bolton to tie Connell down to a new contract as the youngster is still believed to be on a youth contract.
It’s high time Bolton secured the services of Luca Connell. Especially as Burnley are also interested according to the Bolton News.
Despite being forced off with a calf strain 20 minutes into the weekend’s derby against Preston, Connell has been one of few bright sparks in the squad since breaking into the first team.
It’ll be a massive blow to see the youngster out on the sidelines but it’d be far worse if the 17-year-old Irishman left the club altogether.
Hopefully Wanderers can hold on to their emerging talent. If the Trotters are relegated at the end of the season, Connell will no doubt shine in League One.
What do you make of the interest in Luca Connell?
