Bolton Wanderers midfielder George Thomason is the subject of a £1m bid from Championship outfit Bristol City.
According to The Bolton News, the Robins have met Bolton’s valuation of the 22-year-old, however, that does not guarantee his exit from the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
The offer for Thomason is believed to include several bonuses, though the Whites are still hesitant to let their youngster depart and it is unclear as of yet whether or not the Englishman wants to make the move.
He is seemingly settled at Bolton and has featured in all three of their opening fixtures this season, twice of which were from the bench with John Sheehan currently being picked ahead of him.
The midfield playmaker signed for the Whites on a free transfer from non-league outfit Longridge Town in 2020, making him the longest-serving squad member at Ian Evatt’s disposal. His deal was extended last season so he is currently under contract until 2025.

By the close of business today, Evatt is expecting a decision to be made on Thomason’s future. He spoke on the matter following his side’s 3-0 victory over Cheltenham, labelling City’s proposal a “significant bid”.
It is a matter now of whether Bolton want to sell or the player himself wants to leave.
The Wanderers boss called Thomason a ‘silent assassin’ last season during which he made himself a fully fledged member of the first team squad.
“George Thomason for instance, he is a silent assassin. He is a really lovely, soft quiet well spoken young man,” said Evatt.
“He has got fantastic parents, a fantastic family, but one the pitch he is a killer.
“That is what you want to develop, those really good human beings off the pitch, but on the pitch they really want to win and George really highlights that for me.”
Is Thomason on his way out?
It is now crunch time for Thomason’s future. By the end of play today he may well have said his goodbyes, but there is still a chance that he stays put in Bolton.
All we can do now is wait and see.
