Well, here we are again Bolton fans. Another takeover deal to buy Bolton Wanderers has apparently been agreed according to various sources including the Bolton News.
However, don’t hold your breath just yet. Bolton have been on the verge of a takeover twice in recent weeks and twice the deal has collapsed.
While obviously there’s some excitement in wondering who could possibly be mad enough to buy Bolton Wanderers, it’d be wise to wait until it’s all been signed, sealed and delivered before we get our hopes up again.
The identity of the mystery buyer still remains unknown. However, it’s rumoured they are UK-based and already have a majority stake in another high-level football club.
No matter how unlikely it may seem, a takeover being completed before the end of the month is crucial.
The club has another court date next week on April 3. And on top of that, staff and player salaries are due at the end of the month. It could be a rocky time for Bolton Wanderers’ various employees if a buyout isn’t completed soon.
If a new buyer is not found, Bolton could well face administration, or worse.
More about this potentially club-saving takeover will surely come out over the next few days. Hopefully, whoever the prospective new owners are, will have deep enough pockets to allow this historic club to survive and thrive.
