It was announced last night that striker Christian Doidge would not be completing his proposed permanent move to Bolton and would instead be returning to his parent club, Forest Green Rovers.
Safe to say, fans have had a lot to say on the news and have taken to social media to comment on the situation.
Several fans have expressed their apologies towards Christian Doidge and Forest Green Rovers for their treatment in this unfortunate transfer saga.
Bolton fan here. This is not how the fans want our club to be run and I hope it does not reflect badly on the club or it’s supporters, just Ken Anderson. I hope you persue this with the relevant people to the full extent. Apologies to Christian and your (well run) club.

So sorry you and Christian ever met with the club and Anderson. Believe you me, Anderson is not a reflection of the loyal, genuine Bolton fans or the rich heritage of the club. I sincerely wish FGR all the success in the future and a bright, prosperous career for Christian.

Not pleasant reading for Bolton’s chairman
Meanwhile, other fans have directed their frustration at the role Bolton’s chairman, Ken Anderson, has played in Doidge’s transfer.

Ken has turned our club into a laughing stock and is personally laughing all the way to the bank. He makes Del Boy look like a proper businessman. Massive thanks to Christian – hope he can kick on for you boys. #bwfc

As a bolton wanderers fan I can honestly say this is a shocking way to treat players I’m embarrassed by the actions of our owner #crookedken

And finally, the BBC’s own Dan Walker sums up the situation rather well.
What a mess #BWFC

It’s plain to see that Bolton are having some serious trouble off the field. To what extent though is unknown and that’s the most worrying thing.
This the latest of several episodes where Bolton’s financial troubles have boiled over and it’s unlikely to be the last we hear of it over the next few weeks.
